Actress Unreliability

Our schedule has been set back by two weeks due to our lead actress' ill attendance. Because of this re-occurring problem we have had to change the actress from Rosanna Duggan to Sadie Wilson. This was done for the benefit of the film and so we can advance at a faster pace. Changes will have to be made to the film poster and character profile.

Props - Candle

In scene 8 of our production, when Molly runs back to her room to commit suicide after hearing her mum on the phone, we decided that Molly would light some candles which would help set the scene for her passing away, as we wanted it to seem like her death was a peaceful one. We used several similar candles when filming and used close ups of Molly lighting the candles to highlight that the candles are significant in this particular scene, and to also allow the audience to see exactly what Molly is doing. We also used an extreme close up of the candle flame dying out, which is used as a metaphor for Molly herself dying and is also used as a symbol for light, as it indicates the life/light leaving Molly as she dies.

Props - Eyedrops

In Scenes 8 and 10 we used the prop eyedrops, as these scenes were emotional suicide scenes in which Molly takes her life, due to her waking up and finding that her hair has begun to fall out. We used these to show the characters crying and therefore make the scene seem more realistic. Molly tears show how upset she is over her disease, and how this effects her life. Molly's mums tears show how distraught she is when she realises her daughter is no longer alive.

Progress Report

I have done a total of 30 posts on our blog so far. These posts include a range of research and planning tasks. We have also completed all of our filming to deadline, however we still have a few more research tasks to carry out which include researching in to soundtrack music for the opening title music, the time passing sequence and also for the death scenes. We still have to edit our film and add the music afterwards, which I believe we will have no problems in doing.

Progress Report

I now have a total of 36 posts on our blog, these include a range of post production and production tasks and we have now completed all of our filming for our production of Tea, Coffee and Cancer. However despite this progress, we still have a range of tasks to complete when editing our production, for example we need to research opening/closing credits and a soundtrack to film, by researching these we will have a better idea on how we can apply this to our film so that it appeals to a wider range of audiences.
