Storyboard Movie
After we had created a script, shot list and storyboard for each individual scene in our production, we created a storyboard movie for the whole film, this is to give an idea of what our finish product will look like and to show/ give an example of a range of different camera angles that we intend to use in our production.

Production Logo
As our film is a drama with a target of 'pulling on your heartstrings' we have named our production company 'heartstrings productions.'
I have done this by using my knowledge and skills i have using photoshop. I have taken a worn paper effect and taken down the opacity to create the vintage look. I then added our company name in simple caps so the image is easily readable and added a bevel and emboss to form the shadow on the texts as though it has been hand calved.
This is the final product and i am very pleased i have achieved the look i was aiming for!

Example of Time Passing Sequence
Our film contains a time passing sequence which shows the two characters Molly and Alfie falling in love and the development of their relationship. This is a common occurrence in Romance films as it creates an image of a strong close relationship between two characters before the climax of the film. Here i am looking at the time passing sequence in the film Beastly which is a Romantic Drama.
This is where Lindy and Kyle first meet, the scene shows Kyle hiding beneath his hood which tells the audience he is shy and insecure. Music is playing in the backgroung very quietly.
This is the first time Kyle and Lindy go on a date and he takes her to a rose garden. The volume of the music increases and the dialog stops.
The film then cuts to the couple reading poetry in the same rose garden but we see a time difference as the roses are no longer blooming and there is snow outside on the ground. This tells the audience the couple have been seeing each other from the end of summer through to winter giving the audience an image of their long term relationship.
This medium shot shows what the couple are looking at. This is the scene where the couple break in to a zoo together and watch a film. This creates excitement for the viewer as well as the dim light making the scene feel romantic.
This is the final scene in the sequence which shows Lindy asleep on Kyle which tells the audience she trusts him and their relationship is close. As the sun rises in the scene the music becomes quieter to signify the ending of the relationship.

In order to show a range of shots of Molly and Alfie together, we liked the idea of using a time passing sequence as a way of showing the couple spending time together as there relationship grows and as they fall in love. From researching into a range of romantic time passing sequences, we liked the idea of using a clip from the film UP, despite this film being animated it gives an example of a range of camera angles and shots used to show the couple as a pair. In this particular film the female protagonist character Ellie is diagnosed at the hospital, then as time goes by, passes away. Similar to our production this film shows the pain the male progtagonist character Carl goes through when the one he loves is taken from him. From watching this scene, I have selected a range of shots that show the couple together and then apart.

Anatomy of a Costume - Mum
To finish the costume off i chose to add my glasses to add an intellectual look to the outfit and also hide young looking eyes. The more of the face covered the less obvious of my age and the more believable the character becomes.
Anatomy of a Costume - Alfie Smith
Throughout our production, Tea, Coffee and Cancer, it was important that the two protagonists, Alfie and Molly, wore the right specific clothing which would portray them as the young teenagers they play throughout the film. We found that finding the right clothing to reflect their teenage lifestyles was not a major issue for us as Luke and Sadie, who play Alfie and Molly, are roughly around the same age as the characters they play and already owned clothing which was suitable for the characters of Alfie and Molly.
Throughout the whole film, the character of Alfie wears blue denim jeans. This helped to show Alfie's laid back attitude and shows that he doesn't particularly care about his appearance and whether he looks fashionable or not. Although jeans are quite simple, the character of Alfie still manages to look decent but in an effortless way, considering he spends most of his money on drugs and alcohol.
The character of Alfie wears a range of different t-shirts throughout the film, including a casual grey polo shirt, again reflecting his laid back attitude and easy going nature and a grey jumper with a print on the front. He also wears a band shirt, reflecting the fact that he is a big fan of music as many teenagers are. However, in one of the time passing scenes with Molly, Alfie wears a shirt which shows that his relationship with her is having some impact on his life and changing him, as he is trying to dress slightly more smarter when he is with Molly.
Alfie also wears a grey beanie hat in several scenes, again showing that he is a care-free adolescent and also wears a green parka coat in several scenes, portraying him as a young, typical teenager.

Location Photos
Location pictures of the lake in which most of the film revolves around, many scenes take place here as it is where Molly and Alfie meet for the first time and where they come to spend there dates. We used this as a location as the scenery looks picturesque and romantic for the couple.

We then see Alfie's dining area againtowards the end of the film when he
finds the letter in Molly's bag explaining
she has terminal cancer and where he commits suicide.

Tea, Coffee and Cancer - Character Profile - Dr. Shamilla Patel
Name: Dr. Shamilla PatelAge: 27
Date of Birth: 30th May 1985
Although only on screen for one scene, her character of Dr Patel is important nevertheless. Dr Patel has been a graduated medical student for 4 years and after losing her brother to cancer she made the decision to specialize in chemotherapy. She treats Molly politely and reassuringly on screen and also writes the letter to Molly off screen.
Role: Dr Patel plays the doctor who Molly, the main protagonist, sees when she goes for her check up. Although Dr Patel acts reassuringly towards Molly, she is the one who has to be the 'bearer of bad news' and tell Molly that her cancer is terminal.
Purpose: To be one of the characters that expresses the theme of drama. On screen, Dr Patel acts friendly and polite towards Molly. However by writing the letter to Molly telling her her cancer is terminal, the theme of drama is then highly emphasised with the character of Dr Patel.
Tea, Coffee and Cancer - Character Profile - Sharon Jones (Molly's mum)
Name: Sharon Jones
Age: 46
Date of Birth: 21st December 1966
Sharon is mother to 18 year old Molly, 15 year old Lucy and 11 year old Ben. She loves her children dearly and just wants the best for them. She is constantly encouraging Molly to get out as much as she can and telling her that her illness must not stop her from behaving like any other ordinary teenager, but this doesn't mean that Sharon still doesn't worry about Molly. Because of Molly's illness, Sharon also finds that she cannot concentrate fully on her job and ends up handing in her notice in order to give Molly the constant care and attention she needs. Throughout Molly's battle with her illness, Sharon sometimes feels like she isn't giving her other children enough time and attention due to constantly looking after Molly. She finds it difficult to cope sometimes but does her very best to stay strong for Molly.
Role: Sharon plays the main protagonist's (Molly) mum and is the person who Molly goes to when in need of advice or support. Sharon does her best to comfort Molly when she is upset because of her cancer and does her best to cheer her up when she's feeling down.

Alfie is a young, care free, confident individual who has quite a bad reputation. He is a 'bad boy' and has been kicked out of his home due to his constant drinking and drug abuse. He has no job and no particular aspirations in life and thrives off the feeling of being 'alive' and having a good time. Due to his irresponsible actions, people who know him often only have bad things to say about him. However when he meets Molly, he is instantly attracted to her and overwhelmed by her kindness and believes he can change for the better in an attempt to be good enough for her.
Role: Alfie is one of the main protagonists in our production. His relationship with Molly is the main storyline in our production but his excessive drinking and drug abuse is also what the story focuses on. At the beginning of the story, he is seen as the bad guy and the one who everyone hates but as the story progresses, his relationship with Molly is seen as a good thing for both of them.
Purpose: To be one of the characters in the production that expresses the genre of romantic drama, his relationship with Molly expresses the theme of romance, yet at the same time his abuse of drugs and alcohol expresses the theme of drama as it is considered to be reality and a real life situation.

Despite suffering from leukaemia, Molly is an optimistic, bright, young girl, who refuses to give up fighting her cancer. Working as a waitress in her local cafe, Molly likes to look at her life in a positive light despite her problems and her job allows her to meet and communicate with people who treat her normally. Molly enjoys her job more than most people and begins to enjoy it even more when she meets Alfie, and her relationship with him becomes a way for her to escape the reality that is her battle with cancer.
Role: Molly is one of the main protagonists in this production. Her relationship with Alfie is the main storyline but when her illness comes to light, this also becomes what the story focuses on.
Purpose: To be one of the characters that expresses the genre of romantic drama, her relationship with Alfie expresses the theme of romance, yet her illness expresses the theme of drama as it is considered to be reality.

Alfie is laying on his sofa and pulls out his phone. He dails a number and sits up clearing his throat. There is no answer and the phone goes to automatic voicemail.

Erm, hey Mol it's me again Alfie, obviously ha, where are you? I've been ringing you all day, wondered if you wanted to go out tonight celebrate us, you know, well call me back please, i'm getting worried now, love you, bye
Alfie puts down the phone and stands. Looking confused he walks to the doorway where he finds Molly's bad which she has left behind. He picks it up and sits with it on his knee. Pausing for a moment with consideration he empties the bag of items and finds a letter. He opens it to read chemo therapy results negative. Alfie can not comprehend the information and reaches for the spirit bottle drinking heavily. The scene fades to Alfie sat on the floor crying with an empty bottle beside him and an almost empty one in his hand. Fade again to Alfie asleep on the floor surrounded by empty bottles he splutters and vomits but he is laid on his back so begins to choke, he grasps his throat but unable to do anything he suffocates and his hand drops to the floor.

Pausing for a moment with consideration he empties the bag of items and finds a letter. He opens it to read chemo therapy results negative. Alfie can not comprehend the information and reaches for the spirit bottle drinking heavily. The scene fades to Alfie sat on the floor crying with an empty bottle beside him and an almost empty one in his hand. Fade again to Alfie asleep on the floor surrounded by empty bottles he splutters and vomits but he is laid on his back so begins to choke, he grasps his throat but unable to do anything he suffocates and his hand drops to the floor.

Shot List - Scene 8 (Molly's House)
