Molly Jones' costume's throughout the production of Tea, Coffee and Cancer reflects her young age and her young lifestyle. She wears simple, fashionable outfits that many young girls around the age of 18/19 would wear and therefore she represents the stereotypical teenage girl that many audiences can relate to.
In order to portray to the audience what the characters in our production are like, clothing became a critical part of how we wanted the characters to be seen. In many of the scenes of our production Molly wears neutral colours such as pinks and creams that generate a girly image and show Molly as a fashionable character, who likes to wear pretty clothing. For example the outfits we selected are all simple pieces yet Molly is still seen to be wearing nice clothes that many girls around her age would wear and would appeal to.
In Molly's death scenes we liked the idea of putting Molly in pyjamas as this shows she hasn't got the effort to get dressed or change her clothes due to her chemotherapy treatment not working and her feeling ill. Molly wears cute pyjama bottoms that reflect her young age and show she still is a young girl despite her illness making her deal with problems adults have to go through.
