After growing up together and falling in love, Daisy and Jack begin to be ripped apart, after Jack's prolonged decision to leave his home town and to join the army. In hope to make a better life for the two of them and to do something with his life, Jack believed this decision would make Daisy proud, he was wrong.
Daisy's world comes crashing down around her when Jack informs her of his decision to enrol in the armed forces, the boy who she has grown up to love, is being taken away from her and there's nothing she can do to change his mind. This is the catalyst that will ultimately reveal if the two are 'meant to be'.
Jacks departure leaves Daisy devastated, being alone in there home drives her crazy and being unable to see the one she loves becomes a constant battle that she has to face. Tormented by the thought of Jack being killed, Daisy begins to imagine a fantasy life where the two can be together, shutting the outside world away, Daisy focuses all her attention on a life she had made up, one where Jack never joined the armed forces and where they can stay together forever.
A year has passed, and Jack finally returns home for first time, confused by there run down home, Jack struggles to understand what has happened. Daisy is a changed woman, he cannot understand why she no longer recognises him and it soon becomes apparent that she has trapped herself in a fantasy world, where he no longer belongs. She refuses to believe that Jack is the one she loves and as time progresses she does everything in her power to shut him out of her life.
