Drama's usually concentrate mainly on a character or characters at a crucial moment in their lives, whether they are facing conflict with the outside world or a battle within. Many Dramatic films end in tragedy or heartbreak, this can be due to the events that unfold within the film or due to that in real life not everything has a happy ending, therefore dramatic productions generate a feeling of sorrow to ensure they relate to the real world.

- My Sister's Keeper - 2009 -Storyline: The main character Anna, looks to earn medical emancipation from her parents, who have relied upon her and her body parts to keep their leukaemia-stricken daughter, Kate alive.

Storyline:When Andrew Beckett a lawyer, with Aids gets fired by a conservative law firm due to his condition, he hires a homophobic small time lawyer to defend his case. Ironically they become friends, but tragically due to his illness Andrew dies, leaving his friend heartbroken and determined to win his case.

Storyline: A young boy trying to deal with his mothers heroin addiction, befriends a waitress who helps him through the tough situation.
