Shot List - Scene 1 (Cafe)

For each of the scenes in Tea, Coffee and Cancer we have created an individual shot list that matches the script which displays a range of camera angles and types of edit. This is to ensure that when we film this production we have a clear understanding of the shots we need to use and film.

- Establishing shot of the cafe, to set the scene.
- Over the shoulder, long shot of the main character Alfie as he walks into the cafe entrance.
- Long shot of Alfie as he staggers through the door of the cafe and up to the till.
- Long shot of Molly as she watches Alfie enter the cafe and laughs to herself a little
- Medium shot from behind the counter of the till as Alfie speaks (dialogue exchanged) - 'Erm can I just have a cup of tea please? (pause) a small cup please'.
- Over shoulder Medium shot of Molly as she stands and serves Alfie - She smiles and begins to make the cup of tea.
- Close up on Alfie as he empties his pockets of change onto the counter.
- Medium close up on Molly (dialogue exchange) - 'There's your tea, thats one pound fifty please.'
- Medium close up on an embarrassed Alfie (dialogue exchanged) - 'Oh erm, i"m really sorry, I dont have enough.'
- Medium shot of a sympathetic Molly smiling (dialogue exchanged) - 'Oh dont worry about it i'll sub you from my wage.'
- Long shot of a surprised Alfie, he smiles wearily and takes hit tea to sit down on a table in the corner.
- Close up on Alfie as he drinks his tea.
- Medium long shot of Alfie as he walks back up to the counter (dialogue exchanged) - 'Erm i was just wondering, cause erm you've been really nice to me, if i could have your number then maybe i could repay the favour?'
- Close up on a smiling Molly (dialogue exchanged) - 'I can't see why not.'
- Close up on Molly's hand as she writes her number on a napkin for Alfie.
- Medium shot of Alfie as he picks up the napkin and smiles.
- Extreme long shot of Alfie as he walks out of the cafe, before he leaves he turns to Molly (dialogue exchanged) - 'It's Alfie by the way'
- Long shot of Molly smiling (dialogue exchanged) - 'Molly nice to meet you'
- Long shot of Alfie as he smirks and heads out of the cafe door.
